Upgrading to iT2D 1.4 (Arg! – Base SDK Missing)

by edo on July 15, 2010

I just got my hands on iT2D 1.4 and already ran into some issues (mostly of my own making). Since I also upgraded to the latest xCode and iPhone SDK I had to make some adjustments to the default targets found in the iT2D 1.4 examples.

I had to do this because I was having an issue with no build target. i.e. 'Base SDK Missing'.

I've since solved the problem and if you want to see how, just read my request for help over at TorquePowered.Com

Hi there,

I am a new indie developer and I am thinking of getting the itorque2d to do a simple shoot em up game and hopefully in the near future create a simple MMO for the iphone/ipad. I was just wondering how hard is it to pick up itorque?

I am a seasoned c++ programmer but have been thrown into the web-developement industry for the past 6 years, so I’m a little rusty with my C……

Would be cool if we could share stuff that we learn on itorque (when I get mine and if it’s good). :)

Kind regards,
Steven

Steven,
I think as long as you’re willing to put in some time learning to use the tools, the scripting language, and a little bit about various xCode + iPhone SDK + iT2D odds-n-ends you’ll be OK.

As far as I am concerned, the Torque tools (including iT2D) maintain a great balance between power/features and the investment required to use them.

As far as sharing lessons learned, I’d be glad to. However, be aware that Torque has a great community and very active forums.
